How do you know your optimum body size?
Two measures are used to assess your appropriate weight and body fat: Body Mass Index and Waist Circumference. BMI is your weight in relation to your height. Use the calculator in our wellness center to determine your BMI.
Do You Know Your BMI ?
Underweight: Less than 18.5
Normal weight: 18.6 - 24.9
Overweight: 25 - 29.9
Obesity class 1: 30 - 34.9
Obesity class 2: 35 - 39.9
Obesity class 3: 40 and over
A BMI over 30 shortens life 2-5 years

The Million Women Study reports a high cancer rate with a high BMI. Cancer occurred in 45,037 participants, resulting in 17,203 deaths. Relative cancer risks increased with a higher body mass index. Obesity contributes to 25-30 % of major cancers, most notably breast, colon, endometrial and colorectal cancer.

Even normal weight women with elevated waist circumference increased their risk for cardiovascular disease.
